The Position
What you’ll need to be successful:
Medical:
- Perform physical examinations, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for each individual patient
- Review and analyze lab results and diagnostic records
- Perform surgical procedures as needed (Pyometra, Foreign Body, Cystotomy being the most common) **Mentorship available**
- Transition patients to overnight care as needed and communicate effectively with referral hospitals in order to ensure continuity of patient care
- Document patient medical and surgical records with detail
- Develop a rapport with clients, understand their desires, clearly communicate plans and findings
Leadership:
- Promotes team-first and transparent practices that allow candor and feedback
- Mentors and maintains a healthy hospital culture motivated to excel
- Follows best practices related to applicable occupational health and safety regulations
- Communicate amongst team members to optimize workflow and act as a leader within the hospital

- Participates in and promotes the Company’s culture, including utilization of the Traction methodology, and attends meetings as requested (whether held during or outside of a hospital shift)
Administrative:
- Attend team meetings as needed to ensure continuous communication within each department and role
- Positively represents the hospital in the professional community and to the general public
- Stays up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine and attends Continuing Education meetings
- Performs additional duties as assigned

The Candidate
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited university
- 3-5 years of experience, preferred
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the province where the hospital is located
- Experience with mentoring and training other DVMs preferred
- Compassionate team player with a positive attitude
- Enthusiastic about sharing your knowledge and expertise with other DVMs and team members
- Proven leadership skills and a desire to build long-term relationships
- Professional-level verbal and written communication
- Commitment to continuous professional and personal improvement for you and your team
- Excellent time-management and delegation abilities
