BY-LAW NO. 19 REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIANS
19.01 Registered veterinary technicians are animal health auxiliaries referred to in section 13 of the Act. No person shall act as, or perform the duties, tasks, services and functions of, or hold himself or herself out, and no member shall hold another person out as a registered veterinary technician unless such person
(a) has his or her name entered in a register of registered veterinary technicians maintained by the Registrar, and
(b) has met all the qualifications and requirements which may be set out in the rules, and has paid all required fees.
19.02 A member holding out another person as a registered veterinary technician shall ensure that person meets the qualifications and requirements set out in the by-laws and rules, including entry in the roster of registered veterinary technicians.
19.03 Registered veterinary technicians shall be permitted to perform under the direction or supervision of a practising veterinarian those duties, tasks, services and functions for which they have been trained during the course of studies and other courses approved by the Council and as set out in the rules.
19.04 The Registrar shall maintain a register of registered veterinary technicians who have met the requirements of the by-laws and rules and shall remove from the register of registered veterinary technicians the name of any person who no longer meets the requirements of the by-laws and rules.
